Now Week (Xbox 360)Īlthough Alan Wake was somewhat modern compared to some of the other releases on this list, it is still a “classic” by today’s standards.
PIXEL PARASITE GAME SKIN
Dead Space is the type of game that can really get a player’s skin in the eye and has more than a fair share of heart rate-raising moments.

Isaac Clarke has become a horror icon over the years thanks to his adventures through the Dead Space franchise, as well as his collection of engineering-based sci-fi weapons. This Sci-Fi Horror edition is perhaps one of the most disturbing experiences ever created, with some truly terrifying moments and expertly crafted locations overflowing with hordes of hideous monsters. Those looking for something really terrifying will definitely want to pick up Dead Space. The following is nothing short of a terrifying and mind-blowing character survival game that definitely deserves a place in the must-have group of games. Players will control a forensic investigator tasked with discovering clues via some unique and intuitive (for their time) tools. The adoration is not out of place, as Condemned is a really fun and entertaining horror title that sprinkled more than a few tense moments throughout its run.
PIXEL PARASITE GAME PC
This title was originally created for the Xbox 360 but was later ported to PC via Steam, thanks to an influx of support from a cult following who adored the game when it was first released. Players who prefer their horror to be “up close and personal” may want to check out Condemned: Criminal Origins.
PIXEL PARASITE GAME FULL
There are Frankenstein-esque creations, giant insects, and of course a ton of zombies.Īlthough Zombies Ate My Neighbors can be a bit challenging for the non-beginners, it is definitely full of fun to play and players should enjoy trying to beat all 48 stages of the horror-filled fun. Players who get their hands on this top-down shooter will surely see the effects of horror, as the pixelated arcade-style SNES is filled with a homage to the horror past. Zombie Eat My Neighbors (SNES)Ī blast from the past, Zombies Ate My Neighbors isn’t particularly scary, especially compared to the titles on this list, but it’s definitely a must-play. It’s not nearly as exciting as some of the other titles on this list, but it does have a unique premise and was an entirely different overall adventure during its time, making it a special place among other horror classics. Underneath the unique, albeit somewhat confusing, combat, Parasite Eve is a rather cool horror experience. They were free to use skills and items via the menus, as one might do in a traditional RPG setting. What made Parasite Eve unique was that players were free to move when fighting against enemies, but their attacks would come by targeting specific enemies and then automatically attacking. Parasite Eve (PS1)Īlthough Parasite Eve looks like a title that belongs in the same vein as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, it is actually a game that is closer to Final Fantasy and RPG. Gorgeous sound design, gruesome monsters, and an engaging story make Silent Hill 2 a must-see. At its core, Silent Hill was a lot like Resident Evil, with players trying to survive in a world filled with horror, picking up weapons and stockpiling terrifying ammo and supplies while solving puzzles and fighting horrific monsters.Ĭonsidered by many to be one of the best Silent Hill games ever, Silent Hill 2 stood out from other survival horror games by crafting a mist-filled game world that was absolutely terrifying.

But there are quite a few horror fans who have missed Silent Hill, the franchise that established itself around the same time.

PIXEL PARASITE GAME SERIES
PlayStation and PlayStation 2 have seen their fair share of great survival horror titles, with many players citing the Resident Evil series as the best of the bunch.
